For 20 years, the Waikato Chinese Moon Festival Celebration Show has brought together talented performers, families and communities across the Waikato to celebrate the beauty and traditions of the Chinese Moon Festival. This special anniversary edition features a vibrant line-up of music, dance and cultural performances, showcasing both traditional Chinese arts and the creativity of today’s multicultural New Zealand.

A very special 20th anniversary celebration.

First established in 2006, the Waikato Chinese Moon Festival Celebration Show has become a much-loved annual cultural event in the region. After a decade of performances at a variety of community venues, the celebration returns to a theatre this year — the newly opened BNZ Theatre in Hamilton.

Join us on Sunday, 4 October 2026 at 6:00pm for an unforgettable evening celebrating 20 years of culture, friendship and community. Whether you are part of the Chinese community, have an interest in Chinese culture, or simply enjoy a great live performance, everyone is welcome.
