The champs in The Tron? The Wahs to play pre-season game in Hamilton

Cowbells to the ready, the NZ Warriors are confirmed as playing a pre-season friendly at the FMG Stadium Waikato next season.

With excitement about the Wahs’ Grand Final prospects already at fever pitch ahead of the team’s elimination play-off against the Dolphins on Saturday, Waikato fans face the real prospect of being able to see the Warriors in the flesh as reigning NRL Grand Champions.

“We’ll be backing the Warriors this weekend and, fingers crossed, to welcome the future NRL Grand Final winners to FMG Stadium Waikato next year for a Warriors pre-season match,’’ Hamilton City Council destinations general manager Sean Murray says.

“We’d encourage fans to sign up to HLive so they’re first to hear about confirmed date, ticket on-sales and other event updates as they’re announced.”

The Warriors have played in Hamilton eight times since 2005 but never with the amount of interest that the current team has generated.
