Hamilton Pokémon fans queue early for 30th anniversary cards
If you wondered why people were lining up along Barton St on Wednesday, the answer is Pokémon.
Dozens of fans queued outside Hamilton gaming store Hobby Lords – some for hours – to get their hands on a limited-edition 30th anniversary card pack.
Among the early arrivals was 16-year-old Ethan Payne, who got up at 4.30am and had been “standing in line since 7am”.
Payne has been playing Pokémon since he was five.
“It’s a very fun game because you get to connect with other people.”
