At the heart of the programme is The Journey of Mataatua Whare, a moving opera in concert telling the true story of the great wharenui taken overseas without consent and returned home in 2011.
Exploring history, identity, loss and return, this unforgettable performance features outstanding New Zealand soloists alongside the Waikato University Voice Programme Ensemble.

THE MAGIC FARAWAY TREE follows Polly and Tim and their children Beth, Joe and Fran – a modern family who find themselves forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. Soon after the family’s arrival in the countryside, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents including treasured characters Moonface, Silky, Dame Washalot and Saucepan Man.
