We’re not your typical travel agency. In fact, we’ve always felt that we’re more like a travel partner.

Someone who’s on the end of the phone when you need a sounding board. Someone who knows your travel plans, understands what matters to you, and is ready to put things right when something doesn’t quite go to plan.

Based in Hamilton but working with clients across New Zealand and beyond, Travel Collective was built around a simple belief: travel should feel personal.

Travel has always been in our DNA. Our founder, Richard Brewer, grew up with parents who owned a travel agency, meaning travel was a huge part of his childhood. He travelled the world from a young age, experienced different cultures and saw firsthand the incredible connections that happen when people travel.

It probably wasn’t a surprise that travel became his career.

But the way people travel has changed dramatically, and we believe the way people work with a travel agent should change too.

Modern travellers want flexibility. They want personalised advice, easy communication and someone who genuinely understands them. Sometimes that means a phone call. Sometimes it’s a quick text. Sometimes it’s a late-night question or helping solve a problem while they’re on the other side of the world.

We’ve also never believed in charging our clients booking fees, and we never have. We believe our value should come from the service, expertise and relationships we provide, not from adding a fee simply for making a booking.

We go all in.

Our relationship with a client doesn’t end when the booking is confirmed. In many cases, it’s only just beginning.

We’ve been part of weddings, honeymoons, family celebrations and milestone trips. We’ve helped families while loved ones are overseas, arranged something special for a honeymoon and jumped in to secure the right room or fix an issue while clients are already travelling.

Sometimes going the extra mile means literally going the extra mile, because ultimately, we want every client to feel supported, understood and confident that they’re in the right hands.

What stays with us long after a trip is booked are the stories.

The message from a family telling us how much their children loved the holiday. The couple coming home from their honeymoon with memories they’ll have forever. The client who finally ticked something off their bucket list. The stories about reconnecting with family, discovering somewhere completely new or simply having the best time.

That’s the part of travel we love most!

Travel Collective has grown quickly, but our focus has remained the same: personal service, genuine relationships and doing things differently.

Whether it’s a luxury escape, family adventure, cruise, sporting trip, group journey or once-in-a-lifetime experience, we believe every itinerary should be built around the person travelling, not simply around a package.

No two travellers are the same, so no two trips should be either.

For us, success isn’t just about how many holidays we book. It’s the referrals, the repeat clients, the messages when people get home and the relationships that continue long after the suitcase has been unpacked.

And perhaps the greatest compliment of all is hearing someone say:

“That’s my travel agent.”

We’re proud to be a Hamilton-born, locally owned business with clients throughout New Zealand and beyond.

Our Hamilton studio is located at 109 Ward Street, right on the corner of Ward and Nisbet Streets, with dedicated client parking available on Nisbet Street. Our modern studio was designed to feel less like a traditional travel agency and more like a place where you can sit down, dream big and start planning your next adventure with us, as a Collective.
