Celebrate queer and takatāpui voices at our Open Late. For Hamilton Pride, we have invited queer and takatāpui storytellers to take the stage in proud partnership with Pecha Kucha Hamilton.
Pecha Kucha is a Japanese storytelling format where each presenter shows 20 slides for 20 seconds each. The result is a rapid-fire evening of creative ideas, personal stories, and bold perspectives that keeps things moving and engaging.
The evening is led by our fabulous MC Benny Marama and features presentations from journalist and playwright Sam Brooks, visual artist Hollie Tawhiao, and iconic tattoo artist duo Cali and Lou.
This event is suitable for audiences 18 and over. Audience members under 18 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.
Instead of closing at 5pm, Te Whare Taonga will be open until 9pm so that you can enjoy the exhibitions after-hours.
With drinks and nibbles available to purchase from our bar, you can get in the groove with a DJ.
6:30pm (bar open from 5pm)
Adults $15
