Step into the colourful world of Boon and explore Kirikiriroa Hamilton – home to one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most vibrant street art collections.
These guided walking tours showcase some of the spectacular murals created through Boon's Street Art Festival, revealing the stories behind the artists, the inspiration for each work, and the role public art plays in transforming our city. As you wander through laneways, streets and unexpected corners, you'll discover how Boon has helped turn Hamilton into an ever-evolving outdoor gallery where art is everywhere, every day.
Tours run for approximately one hour, starting at Hamilton Central Library and finishing at Victoria on the River. Supported by Love the Centre, these tours are free to attend.

Come along and enjoy our interactive Maaori art installation that celebrates local Maaori narratives and deepens our connection with this land. Join us at 10am to hear the story behind Te Paataka then take part in some fun activities:

Your visit to Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum and Gallery just took an unexpected turn.
Suddenly, you are tasked with a mission to find the secrets hidden within the museum. The clock is ticking, the stakes are high, and the clues are hidden in plain sight.
How it works:
Working as team, you’ll move through the galleries of Te Whare Taonga o Waikato, finding stations and solving clues that get you closer to pulling off the ultimate discovery.
This is a collaboration between Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum and Gallery and Confinement Hamilton.
Good to know:
This event is open to all ages, but all children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Teams must be between 2 and 6 people.
The museum closes to the public at 5pm. Please arrive by 4:45pm, as latecomers will not be admitted after the doors close.
