A 25-storey five-star hotel set to transform Hamilton’s skyline is progressing, with developers revealing designs for what they say will become the city’s first landmark high-rise tower.

Designs for Templeton Group’s $100 million-plus Victoria Street Tower overlooking the Waikato River have been submitted to Hamilton City Council this month.

The design phase was initially meant to be completed by August 2025, with resource consent applications expected to be lodged by the end of 2025.

But the council’s strategic property manager, Nicolas Wells, said the project had not been delayed.

Wells said a development of “this size and scale” was complex, needing matters to be worked through in the early stages.
