First Stitches: 3-Day
Beginner Sewing Course for Kids: aged 8 - 16
Week 1: Tuesday 1st July - Thursday 3rd July
9am - 12pm
Perfect for young creatives eager to learn, First Stitchesintroduces kids to the wonderful world of sewing in a fun, supportiveenvironment. This beginner-friendly course covers the basics—from threading themachine to basic stitches. With step-by-step guidance and hands-on projects,kids will develop essential skills and complete their very own bunting andshorts.

First Stitches: Dayby Day Breakdown
Day 1: Getting Started with Sewing -Bunting
Your child will be introduced the world of sewing. They will get hands-on experience with the sewing machine and tools, and by the end of the morning, they will have sewn their own colourful bunting to take home.
Day 2: Mastering the Basics - SewingShorts
Day two is all about understanding patterns and practising seams and hems. They will put their skills to the test by sewing a simple pair of shorts.
If they are also joining us for day 3, then they will learnhow to add pockets.
Day 3: Finishing Touches on yourshorts
On the final day, they will continue to finish off their shorts by adding all the finishing stitches.
Need a challenge? They may like to learn gathering stitch to make ruffles, making their shorts uniquely theirs!
Sew Beyond Basics:3-Day
Intermediate Sewing Course for Kids: aged 8 - 16
Week 2: Wednesday 9th July - Friday 11th July
9am - 12pm
Ready to take your sewing skills to the next level? Our SewBeyond Basics course is perfect for kids who have mastered the basics, they cansew independently or have attended a workshop before.
In this fun and more advanced programme, kids will learn to take simple made-to-measure patterns and make them their own! With a focus onindependent sewing and creative expression, this course helps young sewists gain confidence in designing and customising their projects. With hands-onguidance, they’ll develop their sewing skills while fostering creativity andindependence.
By the end of the course, they'll have created their veryown outfit, perfect for showing off their new skills.
As they will be working on ongoing garments, it is recommended they attend at least 2 out of the 3 days.
Sew Beyond Basics: Dayby Day Breakdown
Day 1: Pattern Planning & Personalisation
Kids will start by choosing simple base patterns, thenexplore ways to customise it—adjusting length, adding pockets, mixing fabrics,or even sketching their own design elements. They’ll learn basic pattern modifications and prepare their fabric.
Day 2: Bringing Your Designs to Life
With their fabric pieces cut, sewists will practice keytechniques like seam finishes, topstitching, and assembling their designs.They’ll start sewing their project, making creative choices along the way totruly make it their own.
Day 3: Finishing Touches & FinalFlair
Now it’s time to add the details that make their garmentsunique! Kids will sew, troubleshoot, and personalise their creations with embellishments, trims, or custom stitching. By the end of the day, they’ll have a one-of-a-kind finished outfit to take home with pride!
